Submerged Ultrafiltration Equipment Solves Drinking Water Filtration Challenge in Shigatse, Tibet

Summary: Recently, our company successfully delivered and commissioned a drinking water purification project for a rural water plant in Shigatse, Tibet. By transporting 200 self-developed submerged ultrafiltration membranes directly from Nanning to Shigatse, we effectively addressed the core issue of unstable tap water quality in local rural communities, providing residents with safe, up-to-standard drinking water. This project not only showcases the exceptional performance of our equipment in extreme plateau environments but also reinforces our presence in the global water treatment market—particularly for projects in remote areas with harsh conditions.

Project Background: Severe Challenges of Rural Drinking Water in Plateau Areas

Located on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau with an average altitude of over 3,900 meters, Shigatse faces unique geographical and climatic challenges for its rural water supply system. Local water sources are characterized by high impurity levels, unstable quality, low temperatures, and large daily temperature fluctuations. The rural water plant’s outdated filtration processes failed to effectively intercept suspended solids, bacteria, and viruses, leading to tap water that did not meet national drinking water standards (GB5749—2006) and posing a threat to residents’ drinking water safety.
Upon learning of the water plant’s urgent needs, our team promptly dispatched technical personnel to conduct on-site surveys. By integrating local water quality characteristics, climate conditions, and the plant’s operational requirements, we developed a tailored submerged ultrafiltration solution to help overcome its filtration bottlenecks.

Solution: Customized Submerged Ultrafiltration System with Professional Full-Process Service

To ensure the equipment’s stability and adaptability in the plateau environment, we utilized 200 high-performance submerged ultrafiltration membranes independently R&D and produced by our company. Shipped directly from our Nanning headquarters to Shigatse, we eliminated intermediate links to guarantee both equipment integrity and project efficiency.
Our customized solution directly targets the project’s core pain points: optimized for Shigatse’s low temperatures and significant temperature differences, the membrane modules feature enhanced cold resistance and anti-interference capabilities, ensuring stable operation without frequent maintenance. For the high-impurity local water sources, 0.01-micron ultrafiltration membranes effectively intercept harmful substances, ensuring effluent water safety.
Throughout the project lifecycle, our professional team provided one-stop services—from pre-project design and equipment transportation to on-site installation, commissioning, and post-operation maintenance guidance. Even across a distance of over 2,800 kilometers, we maintained a 24-hour response time and 48-hour on-site arrival, resolving any issues promptly to ensure the project’s smooth completion and stable operation.

Equipment Advantages: High Performance for Plateau Environments

Our submerged ultrafiltration equipment has earned high recognition from the local water plant, with its core advantages highlighted below:
  1. High Filtration Precision: With a 0.01-micron pore size (1/5000 the diameter of a human hair), the equipment efficiently intercepts suspended solids, bacteria, and viruses, achieving a 99.99% removal rate. Effluent water quality far exceeds national drinking water standards.
  2. Strong Plateau Adaptability: Membrane modules optimized for plateau climates offer excellent cold resistance and anti-interference, adapting seamlessly to Shigatse’s low temperatures and water quality fluctuations. This solves the “acclimatization” issue common with traditional equipment in plateau areas.
  3. Energy-Saving and Cost-Effective: The modular design reduces floor space by over 30%, making it ideal for rural water plants with limited space. Automatic operation and remote monitoring reduce labor costs, while high-purity PVDF membrane filaments provide strong pollution resistance, a long service life, and a 60-180-day chemical cleaning cycle.
  4. Stable and Reliable Quality: Strict quality control—from raw material selection to production—ensures the equipment operates stably long-term, even in harsh plateau environments.

Project Achievements: Delivering Safe Drinking Water and Fulfilling Social Responsibility

Since the project’s completion, the equipment has operated stably, significantly improving the tap water quality. The effluent is now clear and pure, resolving previous issues of turbidity and excessive impurities, and effectively safeguarding residents’ drinking water safety. The project has been highly commended by the local government and residents, becoming a typical case of our equipment applied in plateau rural water supply projects.
The Shigatse project fully demonstrates our strong technical strength and professional services in the water treatment field. It proves our equipment can meet water purification needs in both ordinary and harsh plateau environments, providing reliable solutions for customers worldwide.
