Causes of Unstable Feedwater Pressure
I. Causes of Excessive Feedwater Pressure
1. Improper adjustment of the high-pressure pump outlet valve.
2. Blockage in the pipe between the high-pressure pump and the reverse osmosis unit.
3. The brine flow control valve is closed too tightly or is blocked, resulting in a low brine discharge flow rate.
4. Low recovery rate.

1. Inappropriate feedwater flow rate
2. Inadequate high-pressure pump inlet water pressure or water or air leakage in the pump
3. Contamination and blockage of the precision filter element
4. High-pressure pump malfunction
Users of purified water equipment know that water pressure, temperature, and inlet water quality all affect the performance of the equipment during operation. Failure to monitor these parameters can directly lead to substandard water quality.
The inlet pressure of a purified water system does not itself affect salt permeation. However, increased inlet pressure increases the net pressure driving reverse osmosis, increasing water production while keeping salt permeation largely unchanged. This increased water production dilutes the salt content passing through the membrane, reducing salt permeability and increasing salt rejection. When the inlet pressure exceeds a certain value, excessively high recovery rates increase concentration polarization, which in turn increases salt permeation, offsetting the increased water production and preventing further increases in salt rejection.

How to resolve the problem?
If the purified water system's pressure is too high, you should promptly check factors such as the water valve, pipe blockages, and concentrate adjustment. If the purified water system's feed pressure is too low, you should also conduct the aforementioned checks, including checking the water flow, leaks, the precision filter element, and the high-pressure pump, troubleshooting each issue one by one.
To ensure the safe operation and longevity of the purified water system, observe and record the system during daily operation, and maintain timely contact with after-sales technicians. Any problems should be promptly investigated and resolved to avoid unnecessary losses caused by equipment failure.
